Thanks for you positive reply.

In Sue's case it is a bit different. She went in for a routine hysterectomy and ended up in an induced coma with septicemia in her lungs.

After recovery her lung function was 50% for years. She has recently seen a specialist that has her on muti that has improved this condition dramatically.

We were due to go to Bali two weeks ago and the specialists advice was "Never!".

So there is no way I will convince her to even stick her nose outside the window in the situation the country is currently in.

If it changes drastically closer to the time there may be a chance....

Cheers

Hi, just a matter of interest did Sue ever go for a pneumococcal pneumonia vaccine. Three years ago there was a big drive for all over 60 and with underlying conditions to go for the two vaccines, 5 year and 12 year I think my memory is slack. Since the both of us had those vaccines we have never had an attack of pneumonia since where before sometime two or three times a year and either one lung or both lungs. Ask your Docim about it.

You just cannot take a chance in current circumstances and then you get testimonials from people who have had the virus and also who are right now infected, portrayed as a simple flu or most cases you dont even know you have the virus.
Then I get this picture from my son in San Fran, a scene in New York

Gents, if the trip goes ahead as planned then I'm definitely out.

No one could have foreseen the lockdown and planned around it.

We effectively lose most of Lynne's income with her being self employed and she'll be in major catch up as will most of South Africa

So I personally would prefer the trip be delayed if possible as I cannot see anyone getting leave to replace any withdrawals so close to the potential start of business.

Hi,

When she went for the first consultation with the Specialist in October last year she had to have the pneumonia jab. He then put her on chronic meds inhalation stuff which has helped immensely now she is full of energy.

He also advised the annual flu jab which she had 2 weeks ago.

Thanks for sharing!

Cheers

Hi guys. We are trying to get a refund from the venue. They can offer a credit for some other time, no problem, but we suspect the trip won’t happen anyway so we have asked for a refund.

They can only give us a refund if they can sell the stands allocated to us.

We will assess the situation again in a week or so, so please don’t make any firm plans to attend at this point in time.

Apologies for the lack of comms, I’ve been exceedingly busy at work and just couldn’t give this trip any attention.

Thanks Kurt. We have additional days booked so will follow with what you manage to get organised.

Agree Bugger. The club has requested a full refund from the venue, for the second time, and we await their response.

I have personally refunded all those who paid except for Andreas and Dirk (who owe me bank details).

Please let me know if the money doesn’t reflect after 72 hours.

We will try this again next year as I suspect we may only end up with a full credit from the venue and no refund, as per the email they sent us.

Sorry folks, but it is what it is
