An update on the two places where you can camp in Piet Retief.
Waterside Lodge has quoted me R150.00 per campsite per night.
Sundowner Lodge has quoted R200.00 per campsite with an additional R60.00 per person per night.
We will most likely book at Waterside as Sundowner was a bit cramped when we stayed there previously.

I'll definitely be doing the trip over 2 days.
Those roads get pretty frustrating very quickly

Thanks for pointing my slip of the finger out. I've corrected the post to read R150.00.
With our trip in October I was advised not to travel on the N2 at dusk and after dark due to animals and pedestrians on the road. Taxis and the trucks are also more of a hazard and tend to cut the corners of the twisty road near Pongola.

Owen can wait Renier.
In the meantime, you need to renew as the trip is after your membership expires.
If Owen posts here before introducing himself I shall beat him like an awkward Ginger Stepchild...

You bought well...Paul#25 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 19, 2019 10:10 amHere is some info for those who prefer to travel at a more leisurely pace especially when towing long distance as well as the other Landy drivers.
Towing our caravan with the Disco can be an expensive exercise
if I travel at 120 km/h as it drinks diesel like a V8 at that speed.
At a steady 100 km/h the fuel consumption is more acceptable and the more leisurely pace makes for a less stressed drive. We will be stopping at Piet Retief on the trip down to Kosi and back home like we did on the previous trip.
