Agree with Hunter - time is going to be key for me and I’m sure a lot of others.

The longer trips Im sure will be challenging and time of year especially. We also need to take into consideration cost on the longer trips . Fuel price alone is a worthy of an overdraft.

I don't believe in racing anywhere. If you have to, then 3 x 2hr stints. Else 2 x 2hr stints.
Now find a place 2hrs away, for a chill, min 3hrs. Then make for the next 2hrs.

That way it is not about the destination, but rather the journey.

Guys, I'm not interested in unhelpful off topic comments.

This is how is works...

1. We asked for suggestions (Done)
2. I draw up a list based on those suggestions (Done)
3. We whittle the list down to 10 (in progress)
4. I will start a new Thread where you will Vote on those 10.
5. The top 6 will be the 2020 Calendar - finish & Klaar.

So it's a bit late to start telling me that only trips 2 hours from my house etc should be on the list.
The 10 passes trip, the Namaqua/Orange/Richtersveld Trip etec were not near here & were not weekend trips.

We want a Variety of trips:
Weekend
Long Weekend
Week or longer
Etc.

Its called Variety...

Posts NOT related to the list will be deleted.

OK here is the FINAL list (not one suggestion from the Western Cape - which is to be expected).
I have put who will be arranging, or assisting with arranging, next to the trip...

* Northern KZN trip - (Paul) *** Northern KZN Long Weekend or week long trip
* Botswana X Week or longer trip
* Baboons Pass - (Committee) Long Weekend
* River Trip X - (Committee) Long Weekend
* Trip to Kosi Bay/Ponta Do Ouro - (Geoff/Quack) *** Northern KZNLong Weekend or week long trip
* Passes trip (passes around Lesotho a la Ben Ten) - (Committee)Long Weekend
* Baviaanskloof X - (Committee) Week or longer trip
* Battlefields - (HenriS) Long Weekend or week long trip
* Transkei Trip - (Quack) Week or longer trip
* iSimangaliso Wetland Park *** Northern KZN Long Weekend or week long trip
* Baviaans and Addo X Week or longer trip
* 3 Provinces - (Committee) Weekend or a long Weekend
* Ivory Route - including Mafefe 4x4 route, with Wolkeberg/Soutpansberg (Hedgehog)
* KZN Parks Mkuze Ndumo Ithala Hlulhluwe Isimango *** Northern KZNLong Weekend or week long trip
* Swaziland and parks Long Weekend or week long tripLong Weekend or week long trip
* Old Rail Formation Track - (Bushwacker/DVR) Long Weekend or week long trip
* Namib Dunes - (Grips) X Two week long trip minimum
18

Unfortunately we can only add 10 to a poll, so we need to thin the list down from 18 to 10...

THE NEXT STEP IS TO WHITTLE 8 OF THOSE ON THE LIST AWAY.
Your suggestions on which ones should fall, please.
I say Botswana & Namibia should be removed.
Great trips - but not for Club arranged trips.

..........
I will be in that area in the 3rd week in Sept and will then be able to give more accurate info.

There is so much to see and experience, that this can be a long weekend, but also a 3 month stint.

I don't know all these places - so I guessed at the time required.
Remember the members (you guys) provided that list.

Once it's whittled to 10 I'll close this Thread & start the VOTE Thread...

If any one has suggestions of trips on the list of 18 that must be CUT please post here with reasons WHY you think it should be cut.
I need to get the list down to TEN.

For those of diminished intellectual capacity:
ONCE we get the list Whittlred/Cut/Reduced to 10 I will start a new Thread.
The new Thread will have a Poll.
You can Vote on the new Thread.
Please notethat this is not the new Thread.
Don't vote on this Thread.
I'll start a new Thread with a poll.

For Mike PS - Don't choose your favourite here - this is NOT the Vote Thread.
I will start a Vote Thread once I get this list down to 10.

The REASON I need to reduce it to 10 is because our Poll only allows 10 options.

If you still don't understand - just stop posting until I tell you to Vote (on a new Thread not yet started)...
