Long Trip & Event Memento's

#1

Post by Mad Manny »

It has become a tradition on longer trips & at certain important events, to hand out a memento of sorts.

Initially, we handed out a 4x4 AG Coffee Mug with the event detail printed on it.
For Example the Wwork Wweekend we had at Iquana or River Trip.

Then, mug recipients complained that the mugs didn't match the fine bone-china crockery they are accustomed too & that they had no space for all the mugs.

So we started making a small domed sticker. These were handed out at River Trips & the 10 Passes Tour etc.

But now people are complaining about these as well, they are also fairly pricey due to the limited run.

Emile suggested an Embroidered badge that guys can sew to their club shirts or just attached to a cloth honours roll in their pub or man cave.

Other have adopted a "Why Bother? " approach & say there should be no memento.

The Rule is to give a Mememto where the trip is longer than 2 nights, so it's not for a day or weekend trip.

Examples:
10 Passes Tour
Richyersveld Tour
River Trip
Blouberg Trip
Nam Trip
Etc...

Please vote in the poll, I'll go with the majority once we get 60+ votes...

I proudly display the stickers of the events I've done on the Disco alongside the 4X4AG sticker.
It is a tradition I would like to see continue.....

Domed stickers I think are nice for the long epic club outings.

For shorter ones maybe just a plain sticker.

This reminds me, I need to stick the one's in cubby on 8-)
