Any chance of a list of when and what events are planned?

Billy,
THINGS TO DO:

Game drives in the reserve. There are quite a few 4x4 only routes but nothing too hectic.

Visit the vulture restaurant where the vultures come to feed. Local farmers donate carcasses to the reserve to put out for the vultures.

At Buffalo dam there is an interesting hide which is sunk into the ground so that you view the animals at ground level.

There is a very scenic walk through the fig tree forest which features some large sycamore trees as well. A nice place for a lunch.

An interesting drive to the bottom of the mountain under the vulture roosting cliffs. A good place for a picnic lunch.

A beautiful lookout spot high up on the mountain which is a great spot for sundowners.

Blouberg is a 1hr 15min drive from Mapungubwe National Park so those wanting to take in the splendor of this flagship National Park can do a day trip.

We will do many of these things as and when we all feel like it.
we don't want to be regimented.
We are a chilled, relaxed, heavy drinking bunch...

Renewed the caravans license disk yesterday.
Washed the Caravan today and fixed the kettle's handle and made sure the table's and chairs are packed.

How's everyone else doing?

Installed new mags and tyres in the week.

Bought new fabric to recover the mattress as Conqueror use the most static polyester ever, got fabric to make fitted sheet as, again, Conqueror didn't think about getting a sheet to fit the 2m x 2m mattress as it's far from std, the sheet we previously bought always pulls off in the night.

Started fitting the inverter, drilled holes and test fitted, will run wires this week once I've bought the correct ID ring terminals as new batteries have 10mm screw terminals old batteries had 8mm jobs, so I have to re-terminal 75% of the wires. Put bicarbonate of soda on a few battery acid corrosion spots in the 2 battery trays.

Tested that the new spec gas hob actually works, as it was a 2nd hand unit. Also installed new LPG regulator and Cadac hose.

Filled water tanks (with added Milton tab per tank) to clean and flush before we depart on Friday.

Found a set of second hand unused wall set for a Conqueror.

I think that's about it for now, stopped work as I needed some spares, I'll get in the week.

Spent a few days hunting down a leak in the trailer's water system. Managed to solve it after a bit of bother. Picture my little body trying to replace joints in the piping at the bottom of the trailer.

will have to spend some time on the electrics this week. My HCDP thingymabobbymagaftee seems to have decided it doesn't want to co-operate anymore which poses a problem for getting a charge to the battery. Think i will put separate DC-DC charger, mains charger and solar controller in. At least then if one bombs i can use the other.

Well, I have to give a big Thank You to Conqueror for making battery replacement so difficult, I had to drill out 3 pop rivits each side to remove a metal plate, had to fit and remove the 1 battery about 5 or 6 times as the battery is slightly bigger than the battery tray, used a powerfile to trim about 3 or 4mm of plastic off the lower sides of the battery, looking at the old batteries they have also been "trimmed" in order to fit, so it's definitely a design flaw.
I've now used nylocks and bolts so the metal plates are easily removable in the future.

My inverter works
Ran my wife's camping 1200w hair dryer just as a test.

Forgot to add, fit 2 batteries - 2.5 hrs

Wow! Ge'Off, that story about drilling, trimming, forcing the bigger one in because the space was too tight, using naailocks & testing the new blower got me aroused...
I love it when you talk dirty...
