I have had a chat with Alex at Moegatle, he reminded me that the trail is in places now heavily overgrown as a result of the rain, so please bring along Panga/axe/mesmoertang, etc.
We did cut open the trail last year, but it has not been open and used since, and as a result, we will essentially be breaking trail again.

Ive been to Moegatle about 4 times in last
2 years
(2* LROC, 1* Jeep club , 1 or 2* 44Ag ?)
and I thought last time we went as a group we criss-crossed up and down the river ?
the main obstacles :
Gert se klip 3.5
Steep rock thing w tree at top 4-4.5
..... (need front lockers !)
Koos se Klim Bald rock 5
... (several cherokees, discos , rubis did easy)
but last 2 not in river area ...
so on the new river run
what is new >3 obstacles ?
(PS I didnt do Gr3.5+ obstacles !)

Chas,
You must be referring to the sandy river sections between the cross axles and ou Ryperd and further down to the sandpit/play area and back up in a different tributary.
This is a different tributary /section of the river that is mostly rocks and boulders.
The end of this route is close to where you would normally enter the river to get to the sandpit area
