Actually, Vic has done many trails with his unprotected and un-lifted Jimny, that I would never have attempted with an unprotected previous one. So that extra ground clearance has been a major benefit as well.
But for more serious off road work, any vehicle will require proper undies.

I am keen but my SJ will be off the road for a bit while I rebuild the T-case.

Flip, is this route different to the one I have done before?
