2010 Conqueror Comfort
Axle (hitched) 1410kg

Ge’Off you may need to consider 121 load index rated LT tyres for your trailer

wow, considering all my metal, most my own handwork, then I am on the leanest,
Front axle, 1250kg incl winch
Rear axle , 1270kg, Fridge and a big icebox full of cooldrinks, and plenty heavy metal,
my trailer , 920kg,
combined , 3440kg.
my trailer was the lightest of all.
2011 Toyota Prado 3.0 VX,
2013 Suzuki Jimny, Ratel (larger than life),
2023 Toyota Starlet xr auto,
2019 Invader Duo.

Georg’s Bushpig weighed 520kg on the axle, so about 620kg.

Definitely the lightest, but it has the oldest tyres at 19 years old

I believe it was a big success, some new members joined in, and just a good vibe between all of us.

For us dummies - in terms of weights, how many of you were declared legal?

I believe we were are all legal, except
Maybe for Ge’off with his nose cone weight.

I was well within my vehicle GVM of 2665kg and the trailer of 1600kg GVM.

OK. Now interpreted the results. Did anyone fail? Was some rigs overloaded?

There seems to be the perception
that provided the vehicle + trailer weights
fall inside legal limits that alls OK.

There are a number of aspects that
become apparent through the WeighBridge
day exercise:
- Relevant Load Measurements include:
Front and Rear vehicle axles,
connected & detached trailer axle loads
Jockey wheel load indicating tow-hitch load
- the legal allowed load wrt vehicle specs
- the legal allowed load wrt licence eg EB
- the permissable axle loads
- the axle loads wrt the tyre type and rating
- the distribution of load/s
(car axles, tow hitch, trailer axle,Fr&Rear )
- The age of the tyres under respective loads
etc etc

It becomes quite apparent that one
need address these aspects more wrt
what is safe and sensible
than just ‘what is legal’ ...

A blow-out, or losing control,
at speed with a fully laden trailer in tow
can obviously be a very dangerous event ...

Martin thanks for a v. enlightening day.
