Some stats:

From home, the entire trip, including Road to Hell & the recovery & towing the trailer constantly, except for the day we did Road to Hell & the 16km drive we did while at De Hoop & then back home (West rand) again:

3 224km
474.6 liters.
R7 700.00
6.80km/l
14.7 liters/100km.

... don’t know about other vehicles,
but on LRs sideshafts designed as weakest links in drive train
... on logic that if they don’t break something else will.
Normally the short sideshafts are ones that break.

(... that said UJs also a bit vulnerable to overcall on vehicle ...! )

Not bad figures

I did 2300kms with fuel consumption just a tad below 6km per liter. So I rounded it off (up) to 6km per liter :D

Thanks Nico-MAD if I knew that piece of Road was as tough as it was then I would never have taken the Bus down and Up there

As you know Sll the other members had off road trailers parked at the camping spot
But I basically had most of everything with me that equated to a very heavy loaded vehicle
At least I knew my vehicles capabilities and short falls

Thanks to Grips that I used on 2 spots as a Anchor I made it out
And with the Largest vehicle no body damage at a certain area where other members sustained damage due to S type movement very close to the Edge of the cliff

Trips like these keep giving us on the fly training and teaching you to trust certain Navigators where you got absolutely no eyes on the Objective
