Okay peoples. The place is very rustic but there are trees etc so there is shade. The campsite is quite small. The ablutions look rustic and there doesn’t appear to be electricity.
The campsite is actually inside the Kiara Lodge premises, you drive in and then pass the Kiara Lodge reception and carry on to the right. Then you go down a twee spoor for a few hundred meters and turn right down to the campsite next to a fairly empty small dam.
Across the main road (R712) from Kiara Lodge is the actual bus, this is where the 4x4 trail starts and it’s a very small little restaurant place, maybe four small tables but some shopping can be done for the basics here.
At Kiara Lodge is a restaurant and pub, not sure if the campers can use it but it wasn’t behind any gates or anything.
About 200m towards Clarens on the R712 is a much larger restaurant so perhaps breakfast can be had there on Monday morning, or you can drive 13km to Clarens.
That’s it. Here’s the campsite.
