The last photo sums it up pretty well. Nothing like sharing a beer and some awesome stories around a fire

How did the day in the dunes go?
It went very very well Paul. Nice weather, some good wheeling, very good discipline from the wheelers ( ). No drinking. Only one recovery with a winch. One tyre had a sidewall puncture and had to be changed - having the right size wheel spanner is very very important. As a matter of fact, wheel spanners is of the utmost importance! I might even start a thread on wheel spanners.

A trip report from Manny seems to take a while to arrive Kurt, but we do have almost the truth and some good information.

OK, Trip report? Here:

I flew down to:
Strengthen the Cape Town Chapter
Meet Hunter26 who was in CT on holiday
Attend the joint 4x4AG/FAC outing at Atlantis Dunes.

Mike Nel fetched me in his Cruiser 200GX, he brought Nicholas Lisse to carry my baggage.

We went to Mike's lovely home for a lekker braai, an old Ex girlfriend of mine who lives in CT joined us.

On Saturday Mike made breakfast, my ex pulled in, we collected Non-Member Hunter26 & went to the Melkbos Farmstall to meet everyone.

Non-Members Chris Stoffel & Oppies arrived, as did Club Members Jotto & Thys.

We wentto the dunes & headed out. A while later the FAC guys arrived - they had been at a funeral service (see seperate Thgread).
David Ayers, Dave Helfrich, Frans, Neil XJJunkie & Apoc.

We did the dunes for a few hours, had a kuier, left, picked up some BFG Tyre trouble on Jotto's Cruiser 79 (he needs his butt kicked) & went home.

I stayed at Neil XJJunkie's...

I left enough stickers in the Western Cape to last them 10 years & I handed out Club Caps to deserving Club Members.

It was a great success.

We were 7 or 8 vehicles.
5 FAC members
5 4x4AG Members
3 Forum members who were not 4x4AG or FAC members.

It was indeed a great day. Thanks to everyone that joined in.

The FAC guys also all enjoyed the day & the people.

Clubs are about people having fun. Driving 4x4’s is only the catalyst.

I thought beer is the catalyst?
But it seems as if I have a lot to learn. Or unlearn.
