Carnage Canyon 2025

#1

Post by Trolly Fan »

Carnage 2025 is proposed to take place between 20 and 24 March.
So a couple of leave days will need to be considered here.
www.education.gov.za/Portals/0/Document ... ar2025.pdf

This was the 2023 event:
https://www.patrol4x4.co.za/viewtopic.php?t=9920
And before that the 4x4 AG group arranged the 2022 event:
https://www.patrol4x4.co.za/viewtopic.php?t=9514

In both instances no Patrol managed to make it to the 'the Beach'.
in 2022 two Rubi's, a monster highly modified Bad Habit Jeep, and two Suzuki SJs made it. In all cases highly modified, but nonetheless a 37" Patrol or else just maybe a medium wheel based Safari on 35" could yet become the first Patrol to reach 'the Beach'.

That is why I want to go back.
Else this event is a very lekker kuier.

The max vehicles is 10, but we can potentially accommodate another 3/4 campers in the camping area for 'saam kuier' who are not driving.
In 2023 the camping cost was around R500 per vehicle. It is wild camping, but it costs money to clear the grounds.

The weekend will be rounded off by another day and night stay at the Secret Fountains. The location of both the canyon and the fountains is not advertised on public forums. You will know how to get there, if you join.

Again, there is the DC (definitely committed) and VI (very interested) lists.
You will need to specify in your reply which you want to be on.
I will prompt the VI list closer to the time if the DC list is not filling up. At the same time you can watch the DC list fill up to the max at your peril.

I'm Definitely Interested to go - purely as a spectator - Fearless won't make Carnage.

Trick we found that made the zook's pace good was to stay in a small wolf pack of 3 and work together. Time need to be used efficient at carnage.

Agreed, splitting into teams of 3 or 4 fairly evenly matched vehicles works well
