Hi guys, as promised here is the list for the RT. These are the essentials, if you want to add to it please do so and let us know.

This is not meant to emulate Shaun and Manny's extensive list from last year (which included 4 kitchen sinks and 14 toilets), but it worked for me last year. Not all items were needed, so use your own discretion when packing as each person will have a different setup.

PS - I could not attach the Excel file so i made an image, if you would like the list as an Excel file then please email me (gerbek1@yahoo.com) and I will send it.

Thanks Kurt. Where will this famed Shaun and Manny list be found? Even if it is used just for a smile.

The forum doesn’t have enough storage space in the cloud for that list to be posted here.

So we will see you guys in the river, passing by - The Patrols are starting at Giyani this year.
There are 3 groups doing the trip on the same weekend this year:

1. The 4x4AG group led by Kurt:
We are srtarting in the Molototsi & ending near Giyani - opp to the Patrol group.

2. The Patrol Group under Offroadbiker (Dirk) former 4x4AG Member:
They are starting in Giyani, same as 4x4AG did last year.

3. The Forgey group (Life member of 4x4AG):
I'm not sure which way they are going.
I take it I have forgotten to pay my membership again if I am revered to as a former member

From a catering point of view, I realise that we will be doing the braai thing each night, but what's the plan for the breakfast? Will be on the move after a quick snack in the morning or are there plans for a more sedate start to the day? I'm happy to fit in with the any option so not to incur the muttering of The Boss.

We will be leaving each morning at 08h00 sharp, stragglers will be left behind. Each day is very long and we want to be in the next camp by 16h00 so as to have a leisurely afternoon in the river, hence we prefer an early start.

So breakfast is each man for himself, I suggest simple rather than complicated. Dinners we can have a feast and take our time.

All depending on the group in the evening you get braai's to baked bread, roast, stews etc. We don't just braai :)

Breakfast, anything from coffee and rusks to bacon, egg's, toast, been's and jam
We normally use the coals from the previous night to cook, boil water, or use gas.

Just as head's up, we also use leftovers from dinner for sandwiches for the next day.
