Eish Flip, that poor woman has had more than her fair share of ops.
She's lucky to have you by her side.

What an awesome weekend!

I'm so glad I stumbled upon iandvl's Thread on the Patrol4x4 Forum & decided to check this place out.

Ian was 100% correct! This is a hidden gem...

My report to follow...

Manny's Report:

The Prelude:
I had had a very stressful few weeks leading up to the weekend & feared I'd never get there.
Finally, Friday arrived, I got home to write a urgent quote, then the mad rush to do the last bit of shopping done.
Then to pack & leave.

Tracker then calls to say they received an urgent assist notification from one of my work bakkies.
While Tracker is going through all the unnecessary protocols I see the driver of said bakkie is calling.
I tell tracker 'bye' & take the call. He has had an accident.

I shoot down, get hold of Erin (he is just simply fantastic - if you are not with a great broker - call him).
The bakkie is driveable, I issue instructions, get the day back on track scream back home & pack.
The husband of the lady phones & starts making accusations - I explain I pay a Broker to deal with sh!t like this, so I'm not going to engage with him.

I even manage to leave 15minutes earlier than expected.

The Trip There:
Uneventful. But because of all the other challenges & distractions, I DID NOT do what I always do before a trip - find out exactly how to get there & enter is on Waze, Garmin & Google Maps.
All I have is the Pin Drop Deon of Lekwena sent us.

Deon had sent me a PDF with instructions on how to get there etc - but I ignored it & never sent it to the other's.

The last 17km - 19km is a poor dirt road - with NO signal.

So we all did the same thing: Got to the point where the Pin Drop Google Map said turn left.
There was no left turn.
Drove a bit further, saw an entrance with a sign saying "KROONVLEI ".
We then each decided to enter the gate code & if the gate opened, we'd know we were at the right place.
The code did work & I drove in.

Andreas left early & arrived at 12:00.
Wessel arrived a bit later.
I arrived at 14:40-ish & SueAnne arrived about 30 minutes later.

I arrived to find Wessel & Andreas chillin' & chatting.

The Campsite:
Deon had advised Andreas to take a large campsite, it is massive, maybe 600m2, it comprises site ! & 2 in one large area.
Although we had booked 4 sites, we all camped in this huge double stand.
You could easily fit 6 campers in there.

The place is stunning. Peaceful. Clean. Lovely setting.

We were the only campers (there are only 10 camp sites).
