I’ll never forget Tanya’s words as we watched a hilux take the alternative route on the first obstacle:
“He is on the chicken route, why is he struggling so much?”

Feedback:

From Sue Anne:
Positive - Enjoyed the Andreas session explaining some stuff on 4x4ing. Need to know that stuff, well Peter teaches me but interesting to know. Image

Negatives - Overcrowding on route but that happens.

Suggestion for woman's merchandise - Blue scarf with 4x4 Action group logo, that might be a winner come winter.

From Anita Kroon: Hi Manny
They day was well planned with some important info regarding why it is important for the women to be able to drive.
The course chosen was ideal with some challenging obstacles but not só challenging to be a problem for the first time women, so the husbands could also enjoy sitting in the navi position.

Ending the day with a kuier and receiving a certificate was a brilliant idea!
Thanks for an awesome day and all the preparations.

From Ursula:
The idea of a Ladies day is a brilliant concept and there could be more events like this for sure.
The communication/organizing of the event on the day could be better, but it's also understandable that the presence of the Toyota club played a huge factor on the day
However, it was a most enjoyable outing and thank you so so much once again

Kurt, it was Andreas' event.
I had minimal input.
All credit to Andreas.

It was a really nice day out. The ladies embraced the spirit of the day and most didnt back off even in the face of some pretty daunting obstacles... even for experienced drivers.

Special mention her to Michell who drove Kells' shorty pajero. We drove the waterfall, Gert se klip and a lesser travelled tricky technical route on the northern side... for someone driving offroad for the first time she just has an unbelievable natural feel for it. Well done!

Thank you to all the attendees. From most accounts it was a successful day and certainly achieved its intentions.

Appreciation goes to Victor and Anthony for your assistance to the group. Your input was well received.

A special mention to Cross Country Insurance for the generous sponsorship on the day.

Maybe someone should organise another one some day.

From Desere (Emile's Girl)
The ladies day was wonderful. I enjoyed the pace of everything, the support from the other ladies and the advice and instructions from some of the more experienced drivers.

There isn't much that the club itself could have changed to make the day better.

Thanks for a fun and adventurous dayImage

FEEDBACK FROM ALEXANDER AT DE WILDT 4x4

I Received a phone call from Alexander from De Wildt 4x4 today expressing his apologies for the behaviour of some of the drivers sharing the course on Saturday. He mentioned that they do try to Marshall as much as possible but sometimes when the track is busy they cannot be everywhere at once.

It is also apparent that DeWildt was not expecting as many visitors on the day as the “other” group had not confirmed numbers beforehand.

As many of us mentioned on the day, these venues have been struggling financially during COVID times and we really cannot blame them for encouraging as much business as possible to go their way.

His apology is well received.

Personally I would like to apologise to our members for the frustration you went through out on the track, however by the time we learnt of another group using the same facility on the same day, it was a bit too late to reschedule.
