Would love to know how it went when you guys are back. Will be doing the Senqu trail middle of May. (11 -16). Not sure what the roads will look like or if there is anything left of it. Might end up doing some road building... We did factor in a spare day.

So far we are still goo to go.
Snow has been mostly in the North East, and Pass is in South West.

Hope for you guys the weather plays along. For the Senqu trip planned a couple of guys has already pulled out. We need to be at least 5 cars to make it viable. At this stage we are only 3... If you would like to join reach out to Ryan Otto at Halfway Fourways.

When is Senqu?

It rained the last couple of days, but dry today and expected to remain dry for the next few days, and no snow in the South West.

I started picking up a shudder just as we got to Ramabanta. Well 3km into the trail the left engine mounting went Fuba and that was the end for me. I had to turn around on the mountain and came back down. Did not want to risk any other stress damage.
That was at about 11h00. I made a beeline for the border and got home at 08h00 last night. Yep with a broken engine mounting.

1km into the trail and Abu-s FJ had the 1st side wall puncture.

A further kilo up Rem cut the Rangers sidewall. Then Abu had a 2nd debead on the FJ.

I'm led to believe that Rem also turned around further up and came back down.

It's 19h20. We have been trying to get in touch with the group. 19h25 Remo spoke to the guys at Semonkong lodge. They say Alex was in contact and that they are still on their way to Semonkong..
Looks like it was a tough day out there..

The plan is to do the trip for 11 - 15 May, but at the moment we are 2 vehicles short. Have until Friday, otherwise we will need to cancel it...
