I've decided I'll no longer be attending this trip....

I'd take my name off the attendance list on Post #3, but the attendance list was never added... :?

Why. What happened?
A few reasons:
* I'm tired of damaging Fearless.
* When we did Road to Hell Bugger pointed out that RtH & Baboons were very similar.
* Cost.
* Traffic on the Pass
* I want to open a place for the hoards of other club members who want to do it.

Evening all,
I need to start the final invite list , we need all interested to confirm.

6 is a good count and really should be our final list.
so far confirmed:

1) Martindj
2) Panda
3) Grips
4) Bugger
5) Mr LX

The Friday night accommodation at Ramabanta Lodge, have been paid and confirmed.
We have booked 9 rooms 12 people, in total, a deposit of R1950.00 paid to date.
the remainder payable on arrival.
To be fair to everyone going , each person will contribute to an equal share of the accommodation cost.
So depending on how many people are going, each one of us should not pay more than R780.00 each.

Filling the sixth spot will make it less, and if passenger goes with, we can accommodate them, however the team or the passenger needs to pay his share.

For eventuality we need to prepare for the Saturday on the mountain, in case we have a breakdown, or in case the weather turns on us.
Should all go to plan, we will sleep in tents at Semonkeng, its difficult firming a booking (in case we get stuck),
Once we firm the final attendance list, final arrangements can be made.

so guys time to commit.
NB , 2017, this time Halfway Toyota completed the same pass, in standard Toyotas and a Jeep Wrangler without any hassle.

read about it in the Go Drive & Gear March 2018. They did it in less than seven hours, it can be done!!

keep up the spirit,
2011 Toyota Prado 3.0 VX,
2013 Suzuki Jimny, Ratel (larger than life),
2023 Toyota Starlet xr auto,
2019 Invader Duo.

In the latest June edition of SA 4x4 there is an article about a recent trip to Baboons. They slept over on the pass and only got back to Ramabanta at 23h00 the next night. I'll quote the writer's final paragraph verbatim.

"I do not recommend that you drive this pass. If you wish to do so voluntarily, you need to see a psychologist twice: the first time to see if you are in a mentally sound state, and afterwards to find out why..."

I suspect the pass has deteriorated since 2017.

A Patrol had its radiator damaged and had to be recovered subsequently.

It seems that this was done without too much trouble although seriously hard core vehicles were used
