Rust de Winter - The Bundu Trail



What?:

A Saturday and Sunday of 4x4ing on a proper 4x4 trail, with 1 night's camping on top of the trail - Guided by the well-versed members of The 4x4ATV Club of South Africa.
They take us up and over a mountain....

Where?:

Rust de Winter 4x4, near Hammans Kraal out on N1

When?:

24 to 25 June 2023 Saturday to Sunday

Who?:

This trip is open to anyone who has a 4x4 with low range and decent clearances.
There is a 15 car limit and a 10 car minimum

Why?:

It is relatively close by.
It is great fun and an awesome adventure
It is a tick off the list trail
And the camping is good fun too

How?:

You put your hand up,
I add you too the list,
You book your own spot at Rust De Winter, use me (Andrew van Staden) as the reference to the group let me know and I will tick you off as confirmed

Cost?
R850 per vehicle - This includes camping at their camp on the Friday night as well if you so wish.

Participants must please bring along:

20L of water,
braai grid,
1 bag of wood,
food for Friday, Saturday morning and evening and breakfast for Sunday.
Wors rolls will be prepared by the Trail Marshals for Saturday lunch and for the evening pap and sauce will also be prepared.
Camping gear (tents, sleeping bags, ect.)
Recovery gear

This is great Andrew, the Rust De Winter mountain trail is a "must do".
That Haval is going to struggle. :D
The top of the mountain is gonna be chilly.

I'll promote this outing...

... RDW is a good venue with trails and an
Obstacle Course to test wide spectrum of rigs.
Camping under massive Monkey Thorn trees,
good facilities & ablutions and there's
a great play ground area for little monsters.
Ive been there many times incl. few times
in last year.

Andrew, I have done RDW before with the late Jaco, even on that weekend it was poorly attended, if I recall we were four cars.

I have decided to carry on never the less, sorry I cant attend yours.
