Upcoming Events Calendar

Right. The event thing was becoming a nightmare to manage.

After a discussion with Manny, we opted to change how we do things.

From now on, should you be aware of an event that does not appear on the calendar, start a new thread in either this section of the forum, or "Club Events", or "Open Events". When doing so, you will notice that posts in these sections of the forum now contain from and to date fields underneath the Subject. The subject is the name of the event, details can be captured in the actual post, and specifying the start and end date will automagically add the event to the calendar...

The calendar can be viewed by clicking on the little calendar icon at the top of the menu bar.

Clicking on the actual event in the calendar will take you to the actual thread.

I know the colours of the calendar are not fantastic right now. I'm working on it - it will be sorted out soon. :)

You know Chas, I was thinking of adding all these events. But I sort of failed at it for two reasons.

1: I felt it would not be environmentally responsible considering all the oil spills / etc.
2: I was disturbed by a few things on your link. I check out past events. A chunk of them are problematic, but this one was specifically confusing: https://www.lroc.org.za/news/birding-we ... 0320-fdbk/

You know - for a birding weekend, there is only a single photograph of an actual bird on that page ? There are several photographs of "figurative birds", but I feel it may be best to avoid the confusion about what a birding weekend actually is by not linking to this...
