Heya Folks. I'm currently in the process of planning a Northern Namibia trip for next year June / July. I was wondering whether Dobe border post between Bots and Namibia is still open ? I've been Googling a little and getting a bit of conflicting information about this. Anybody used it previously ? I'd ask anybody used it recently, but recent is a relative concept in the "Post-Covid" world...
Thanks muchly. I noted that "all border posts" had been reopened, but during my Googling, I came across a Bots government statement about the economic feasibility of that border post from a few years ago. Subsequently, I gather the traffic of overlanders visiting the XaXa caves does make it still viable. So I guess I'm good to go on that route...
As far as I know, all the smaller border posts reopened in August this year - Dobe/Tsumkwe was one of them. But the best would be to just phone them.

I had my secretary call them to confirm - you are good to go.

Where in Northern Namibia are you planning on going?
We wanted to come back via Dobe in early July, but had to drive from Tsumkwe down to Gobabis as it was still closed then.
Alex, We're combining a bit of Bots and North/Central Nam. The list runs more or less as follows.
Note that this is not indicating stopovers, but rather so one can get a +/- idea of the circular route.
