Kgalagadi Quicky

I was invited by my BIL in June to join them on a Kgalagadi trip.
Plan was to leave Kathu on Wednesday the 3rd of November and return on Monday the 8th. Had a leisure trip in mind for Wednesday where we plan to stay over at the Molopo Lodge and enter the Park early Thursday morning. Come last week and Tuesday and Christopher (my son) fell seriously ill. We are currently busy with a project replacing 66KV transformers so I needed to stand in.
Change of plan was to leave Thursday at 12:00 sleep over at Molopo and meet up with the others at Nossop early on Friday. Only left Kathu at 15:30 Thursday. Now it become a race against time something I do not like. Put foot and arrived at the Lodge at around 6:45 and 415km later.
Entered the Park Early Friday morning and set out to Nossop 167km away at the max 50km/h allowed in the Park.
The roads in the Park were in a good condition and I am sure you can do it in a small platkar.
Guess we were lucky and we saw most of the species roaming the Kgalagadi.
Few things I have noticed is that very few people deflate tyres low enough to prevent damage to the dirt roads.
Made some interesting observations around vehicles. Seems the 70 Series Cruisers are still the most popular overlanding 4x4. However the old Defender is still out in very large numbers. Then lots of 200 Series Cruisers towing what you can only describe as castles on wheels.
