Where did you see The Gorge on the list of 38 events?

Martin, this is not Rocket Science.

I have posted a list of 38 events.
You must count how many of those 38 events you attended.
Not any 38 events, the 38 listed in this section on this Forum.
Some are Club events.
Some are Open events.
But ALL are one of the 38 I listed.

BTW In the Gorge wasn't an event, it was a Clean-Up day.
The fact that you drove the track whilst we were cleaning isn't enough for me to claim it as an event.

I'm probably missing the point, but why have a list? Is there a prize or something for the member that joined the most outings in a year, or what?

I think it serves two functions:

1. Most forums have many members who are not active on actual outings. This list gives an indication on level of activity.

2. It's a record for those who would like to keep track of activities attended.

The name of the club is 4x4 ACTION Group.

The action referring to actual outings.

Thus a list is most appropriate.

Why mark tests?
Why keep score?
Why measure speed?
Why have podiums?

We do it to encourage greater participation.
We do it to identify who are our most active members.
We do it so we can identify what type of events our members support.
We do it so we may identify which members need more motivation.
We do it so we can reward loyalty & commitment.

Manny ill be the black sheep and say the way you are applying it obviously has the opposite effect for some.
Should there be a defined way how the list of events that count is drawn up? Why are some events ignored?

At the end of the day I think what Manny and the committee are trying to do is get okes out there and enjoying the outdoors in their vehicles. I wouldn’t call it a competition but more of an incentive to get participation up to support the 4x4 sport/hobby in general.

This is a 4x4 club after all, not a keyboard warrior club.

If you see it in a negative light then that’s your issue, and if you don’t want to get out there then that’s also fine.

I see it as friendly banter with good intentions at the core of it
