4WD to the MAX!

#1

Post by Mad Manny »

There is a new Toyota backed TV show, $WD to the MAX.
Tumelo & Sakkie are involved & I therefore heard about it as I'm FB friends with them.
Unfortunately, it was on DSTV & I'd rather watch paint dry (even enamel) than support DSTV.

It's like a team Bridgestone Challenge type format.

However, today I received a message from Danie it is now on Youtube...

Let me know what you think.

Ok, I watched both episodes.

Kind of like a fun day vibe going on.

Toyota obviously a sponsor.

While it's not really my cup of tea - I applaud the effort and hope they do well.

Actually, this discussion has so far been about Series 1, and yes, the series was vehicle sponsored by Toyota.

The series has since been loaded onto Youtube for the the convenience of people that still want to have a look.

The concept as I understand it:
A number of experienced and less experienced teams get together in a short format challenge series to see who can work their way to the top spot at the end. And it is not all about offroad driving...
There is also a good shot of drama towards the end of the first Series...

The Camera crew and Producer are putting a lot of effort into the series to deliver an interesting and twist in the tail series.
Have a look:

I just cannot fathom why people continue to make these You Tube videos. Clicking on the links supplied by Flip above that channel has almost 800 subscribers. Episode 1 had 233 views. Episode 2 had 176 views. Episode 3 had 37 views. Episode 4 had 217 views. Not even the subscribers are watching these episodes.

I just don’t get it.

They have apparently had quite a good response to the series on DSTV's Ignition channel 189 (from the people who are still on the platform.
So much so, that they have just had a re-run of Series 1 during October.

As a warm up for Series 2 - airing soon

Generally you don’t get asked or paid to produce content for Ignition TV. You pay the channel to air it.

Or the sponsors pay for the air of the content.

The reason for the low YouTube viewership is that it was only added to YouTube after it was aired on Ignition TV.

Flip, tell us a bit about season 2.
You are being coy.
You are mos a competitor
