I've had a Fortuner for 13 years and haven't been hi-jacked once.
Maybe you and I are exceptions.
Maybe our Fortuners are not attractive since they go on 4x4 routes... :D

On a serious note, always interesting to see how the vehicle performed over this period. Fuel consumption etc.
Things that irritated you about it
What would you replace it with if you had to (we all know the correct answer is a White Fortuner, but still)
Modds. What worked and what didn't
Good points!

Maybe I drive too slow to roll it over. Image

I have combined the Eastern Cape series into a single Episode. Might be easier to watch and give a complete overview!

https://youtu.be/-tEqS8-4z_E

Note that this series was not sponsored, not do I have any sponsors (I have tried...) I am hoping to put more videos out, but it is difficult to fit it in with work.

At least I am happy to say that I have applied for the Registration of 4WheelingSA as a trademark (I can now add TM and within the next 8 months or so the R). I am aware that there is a similar named version around...

I have recently been to Klein Pella. While I was there I have visited Jors (checked out his YouTube channel). He then mentioned something about H-Trail he has build and that he was not sure if his Jeep will be able to drive it. So he invited me along...

As most of you might know the Lion and Safari Park has a 4x4 Trail. I have driven this trail the beginning of the year and it was a rough trail. Terence has put a lot of work in it to make sure it can cater for all vehicles. I needed a trail close to home where I can take standard vehicles without them risking damage. Therefore I went out to drive the trail with this in mind. The group I joined had some standard vehicles and this was ideal for what I wanted to see. I have put a video together on it, I cover obstacles longer than what I usually do, but the purposes was to show as much as possible.

Out of interest, who has driven the Lion Park 4x4 trail and what are your views on it? What would you add or remove from the trail?

I have driven it.
It was a bit raw and new when I went.
It's nice as you drive through the Lions etc to get to the start.
Didn't like the very sharp rocks on one section.
The litter washed down the river from the squatter camp was a horrible sight.
It's a bit pricey as you pay for the Lion Park entry, so you need to make a day of it to make it worthwhile.
It's nice and close...

Thanks Manny

I agree, the new parts on the latest video is much more beginner friendly. I agree to try and avoid the rocks. The litter is a problem when the river comes down, but maybe a good idea to at least try and remove what you can see.

At the end of last year I have driven down to the Cape. I made a video of it to share the route. Maybe not 4x4 related, but maybe worthwhile to know what to expect?

Since the last video ended at Piketberg I made a short video of a drive through the town. I also discovered the Versfeld Pass. This is definitely worth a drive when you are in the area!

Just a couple of updates,
1. I have started publishing a series of our recent trip down to the Eastern Cape. There should be 4 videos coming. The first video is available now:
https://youtu.be/gyiRrJW-mfs?si=JexRLtmLL9XYeAfm

2. You might be noticing a lot of shorts coming. Instead of just uploading them from old videos etc these actually do have a purpose behind them. I took a day to film them, so they were not taken from old content. They also have a purpose wider than YouTube. They will be instructional videos for the trail to help people without any 4x4 knowledge to drive the trail. so even if they might be boring for the experienced 4x4 driver they are targeted at the beginner who just bought his first 4x4 and would like to drive a trail without damaging it. So their is a bigger plan with these.

3. For the middle of the year I am planning a trip to Namibia, but that will require a bit of saving, so if you have some spare diesel somewhere keep it for my... :-)

New Episode available on YouTube.

If you like wine you might enjoy this one... Just a bit of a variation instead of posting the 4x4 and overlanding videos all the time.

During our Holiday in December we camped at Storms River Mouth Rest Camp. The weather was not always the greatest, but the sunsets were amazing! Link to the video below.

I have been invited to have a stand at Clearwater Toyota's 4x4 Expo on 16 March. Come say high and you could stand a chance to win a 4x4 outing with a buddy at the Lion and Safari Park 4x4 Trail as well as a signed copy of Terence Tracey's book about their Journey in an Imp from Johannesburg to Coventry.
