Sand anchor day today. Welding and grinding and beer. Manly things to do today. Gotta take it apart and change the angle.

Here it is. Some small tweaks to be done if it works. Will test it soon.

Hi Thys.

It was a difficult morning. I had to push the Wrangler to the bottle store and back. Then I opened the second beer with my welding hammer and the neck broke off.
I will take the broken bottle back for a replacement. But I drank the beer anyway.

Anyways Thys, the anchor did not work. I pulled it with the Samurai. It did not dig itself in.
I think I need a handle on top and a second person to guide it into the sand. I will add a handle tomorrow.
And use a bottle opener to open my beer.

Chris, I would suggest you turn the "blade" around so that it becomes a "scoop. That would result in the soil being contained better.

If you add a few more of those "scoops " , you can start ploughing :D

Raait I'm back. I welded a handle to the anchor to keep it upright and to guide it into the soil. It still did not work.

It was supposed to work the same prinsiple as the crank lure does that fisherman use. It pulls/dives itself into the water. But water is not sand and sand is not water.

I would like to see a video of a sand anchor that works and pulls out a stuck vehicle. Where the anchor pulls itself into the sand without being buried by someone.

So, sand anchor's doesn't work unless proven otherwise.
In the end it was nice building it and playing with it. 'It' being the anchor. Playing with the anchor.

Correct.

Your best bet is what I already mentioned much earlier on in this thread. Bury your spare but it will have to be a fairly deep hole. Then you’ll have the gravity of the sand on your side.

OK members. This morning I took my angle grinder, with a cutting disk, and cut up my sand anchor and tossed it into the dustbin.
But is was fun building it and testing it. :)
