What’s in your recovery bag/s?
Gear I never leave without would include some of the following:
Tire Pressure Gauge
Compressor
Tire repair kit
Air Jack ( not a big fan of high lift jacks)
Snatch rope
Shackles
Ratchet Straps
What is essential to you?

One thing I would also love to add, but cannot afford at the moment, is MaxTrax.
I also cannot justify having them. Maybe later in life if I become a member of FAC, I will look into getting a set

Basically the items mentioned by Mike and XJ with a few additions.
1) I have a small "ski boat" flare kit in a sealed container.
2) A small groundsheet to either lie on or catch spares that drop when working under the vehicle.
3) A container of tyre fix solution to add if there is a persistent leak in a tyre.
4) A wooden board that just fits into the ammo box and is 20mm thick as a "load spreader" for under the bottle jack when jacking on a soft surface.
5) A selection of all the different types of electrical fuses and a relay.
6) Some electrical wiring and a 12v soldering iron with solder.
7) Hand cleaner.
