All righty then!

You all had a week's time to repair your recovery points. Now show them to us. The panel will judge them. ;)

Looks like towing hooks and they will not be kind to the shackle pin. One cannot see how they are attached to the body.

No Go. :(

They are attached to the chassis, not the body. Will take pics tomorrow but I hear you about the the shackle pin. What if I turned the shackle around?

Proff her are your recovery points.

The front point is a towing point.

No Go. :(

The rear point is welded on and the weld will start tearing from the back if it tears. The hole is way to big and will damage the shackle. Looks like 6mm Steel? But it is too thin, you need spacers welded to it to make up space.

No Go. :(

Sorry Proff!

One of my biggest concerns regarding recovery points other than the point itself is the way it is attached to the chassis. I have installed my fair share of aftermarket bumpers.

Most mount to OEM brackets and chassis mounting points. Many aftermarket bumpers are only supported by two bolts per side which are inadequate
to support snatch recoveries when serious stuck. Think all my bumpers and mountings are over engineered.

Here is some pics of the rear bumper attachment on the Yank Ranger. Little rust from boat launches. :o

Bolted in an extra cross member to support the chassis. In the end 16 M12 grade 8.8 bolts take care. All of that to support the Onca rear bumper. The need to recover Swambo`s Cruiser. :D

This is the most relevant point made in any thread about recovery points. You could have a recovery point rated for recovering a battleship but if it is not mounted properly, you would be safer doing a tow ball snatch.
I refuse to be POLITICALLY CORRECT to impress others - Deal with it

Looks good Johannes. Looks like it is made to accept the hook from a winch as well?

The rear bumper is 150mm channel iron, only way to get it directly on the chassis, so had to make sure everything else was strengthened sandwiched and boxed!
