No Prof. Top one won’t survive. Rear looks too thin & not very secured. Looks welded on?

Those thin rear ones are welded on . Does not look like a very strong weld either . I might be wrong !

Before the River Trip I installed a front bash plate on the 79 Cruiser. The brackets of the front bash plate also have the front recovery points. As i bought the 79 with an ARB bumper that does not have recovery points.

Installing a similar bash plate on the 76 from Onca. The Onca Plate came with 8 bolts 4 vertical into the Chassis and 4 horizontal.

When doing the plate on the 79 I noticed the kit comes with only 4 bolts.
The horizontal ones were missing.
Installing the plate I noticed that the holes of the horizontal bolts did not line up with the chassis. With limited time I left it like that and decided that in case of a recovery I will not use them as recovery points. Back of the bracket have 2 x 8mm bolts and the front a 12mm. The 8mm bolts will not be up handling serious forces. After the trip I installed 4 8.8grade horizontal bolts by adding a 7mm spacers at the back of the fitting to line up the holes.

Ok so last week my BIL had the same bash plate installed at a fitment center. Had a look and only the 4 vertical bolts were installed.

Guys please check out bumpers and recovery points fitted by fitment centers.

That is the very reason I do not sommer hook any 4x4 with a snatch rope or let anybody just hook his onto my 4x4. That fancy bumper could be installed with insufficient bolts or brackets.
