Storage Boxes On The Metalian

#1

Post by AndreasR »

So lockdown gave me way too much time to contemplate my trailer setup and come up with some new ideas.

I thought some storage boxes on top of the trailer would be a good idea. My roof top tent is on my vehicle so I needed to maximize my space on the rack on the trailer.

I had two aluminum boxes made. One is 1389x800x350. This is for chairs, extra awnings, wind shields etc. the other box is 1380x450x350. This is for things like charcoal, wood, spade, extra tent poles etc.

Both boxes got carpeted and gas struts.

On the larger box I fitted a solar panel to charge the trailer battery. still have to route the wiring.

Some pics below.

Johannes, the bare boxes were made by Alumbox in Benoni.

Dankie.
I got Andreas to come up with the idea.
He designed the boxes.
He had them made.
He paid for them.
He fitted them on his Metalian.
Then he started a Thread about it.

But I'm happy to take the credit...
