What would be ideal wheelbase? I thought 100” was the golden in between figure...
Safari is 115”, and that is long wheel base.
Would 110-115” be ok on pipecar?

It really depends on what you can get out of it in terms of the motor length . Did you decide on steering yet? Steering box with drag link plus pan hard rod or full hydraulic with 4 link ?

Measure up and make a sketch. thats what will determine the wheel base.

If you are going full hydraulic I'm thinking you should go with an A arm (well a U-arm) to get around the length of the motor with a single top joint at the front - which means you'll need the same at the rear to keep the roll centres happy.

Will soon be able to compare, busy buying disco2 Roling chassis to put underneath my merc

big ball joint is fine, but not great.

I'd prefer a big spherical joint pressed into a housing on the diff side myself.

but it will work!
