Fuel consumption was 10.9l/100kms when I filled up in Parys on the way back, not to bad for a 1.3 carb fed motor.
Isuzu Thailand drove a new D-Max 1.9Ddi Blue Tec up a mountain & back, with a load of 1000kg.
It did 1143km on one tank averaging 7.2l/100km...

I'm not sure it's fair to compare a brand new vehicle with a Td motor to a 22 year old carb fed petrol motor.

But on that, Im very keen to see the new D-Max & MU-X next year...

Yesterday was D-day for Sami to get new brakes up front, it was a pretty seamless job, I suspect the discs are very very old, you can see by some of the pictures before I started stripping.

For the 1st time, in all the times I've done brakes, I had to use the bolt holes to remove the discs, but they did come free.

Both front calipers had a slide that was siezed, so I stripped both slides on each caliper, cleaned and sorted it all.

The Alfa discs and ATE pads seem to be a good match, I took Sami for a quick drive after I was done just to make sure they work. The brakes are now 10 times better and they still have to bed in. ImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

And this is why you cannot buy a restoration project/toy as an everyday vehicle

Nice one Geoff. It's a strange wear pattern just in the middle of the one disc. No wonder it didn't stop so good.
