Here goes some of the Projects I own and built
My one is a Beetle I built 2014 for the Desert top end runs
Speedweek at Hakskeen pan
I bought a bug with golf turbo 8v engine
After started getting some work do e on it I stripped the Bug completely as the previ8owner had welded the rear axle nuts on the axle
Rear discs had road rash from wheels that came off
And Alot of stuff I was not going to risk my life trying to go fast on sand
Bug got a full color change with historic racing spec rollcage
Discbrakes all round
Special long ratio transmission with Chrome molly main shaft and chrome molly side shafts
Full engine rebuild new turbo exhaust manifold and Tdo4 turbo
New rear intercooler fitted above the Engine inside the Fiberglass Porsche wing
3 reasons I used the big Porsche wing:
1 - to hide the Golf engine
2 - fit the intercooler
3 - most important have downforce past 160Km/h
I worked 18hrs a day for 3 weeks to finish the bug 2 days before we left for Speedweek 2014 and its first test drive.
Speedweek was a track of 5Km long on the Pan
My first run 175km/,h
Second run 198km/h
Third run on my GPS 225km,/h unofficially as I missed the beacon
Fourth run 206Km/h
I must say to do that speed on sand in a beetle took driving and I had the suspension of the Bug sorted

So After injectors gave problem and a conrod came out of the Block
I removed the Golf turbo and installed a Mazda Rotary turbo 13B with a Charge cooling system
Been a long term Project but did a few Upgrades since 1st motor installed
My Aim with this bug now is to do a 244Km/h from standing start in 800m
So a tall order but do able as the Hp is more than double from Golf turbo motor
The bug have been on the Dyno with 289Kw on the wheels but upgraded injectors to 4x1200cc and Hybrid turbo so should make a bit more Hp with little bit more boost

Pierre , surely you had to add a bit of front
end weight to keep front traction ?

Not at all added weight in the Front
By the fitment of the front spoiler you Avoid air going under the pan from the Front that create lift
So then the Air go in under the Pan just behind the front wheels
Lifting the Beetle
No to avoid most of that we fit side air o foils
But there are still air going in under the floorpan as it is so flat
It acts as a aeroplanes wing
This is where the rear wing comes in to play to create a bigger downforce and help with the top end handling

Back in 1998 I wanted to build a beach buggy for drag racing
So I went to the guys that manufactured the bodies
Looking for a scratched buggy rejected for sale
They had gelcoted the new SA Flag on a shell and built a buggy
They had a client who was looking for a new buggy but white is a very big hurry they Quoted the client and used the flag buggy.
So me looking for a shell they had 2 options, a white shell with minor scratches and the Shell with the flag on.
The flag came with a shortened chassis. Windscreen frame, seats and it was a deal I could not turn down.
So I bought the kit.
Then built a drag buggy with 2.4L turbo charged aircooled engine, first time out it did 12.4 sec on the 1/4 mile.
Got better, ended up on 11.1 sec.
After some mates lost their lives on the drag strip I parked the buggy as the roll cage and safety equips were far from safe.
About 8 years ago I stopped it completely and built it over from scratch and fitted a Rotary turbo engine from my cabrio beetle....
Some pics to follow.....
