Great job Bugger.

Preventative maintenance time

Front wheel bearings and cv boots were changed not to long ago on my Syncro
But on a previous trip I thought I heard a wheel bearing not happy

So thought it good rather investigate
Found cv boots quite perished

I did recieve some good Silicone boots from the USA that I'll install and decided to source good quality front Wheel bearings and will install that aswell

Gearbox had a oil leak that was attended to
And rear engine sump protection bar was slightly touching the sump
Causing a vibration heated it up and bent it back

Will go through my Solar system and check charging making sure we are not power less in Upcomming Botswana trip

So took NOAH for its first test drive
No brakes only with Handbrake
Fitted the 17" Porsche Fuchs rims and tyres
Rear mount arcon

Re fitted the steering rack as the supplier obviously had a appy fitting UT for me but now turns nice both sides
Only got the power steering pump I need to replace

Electric Ragtop working good

Now bus is nearly complete but bad news is I need to strip the bus again as all paint need to be removed and start from the beginning as when I had the shell all clean without any paint I sprayed the body with NS 4 rust converter
Now it seem that was s wrong choice and paint is reacting to the anti rust

Eish Bugger - you must be da Moer in.

Duram NS4 is Water-Based & I'm not a fan of over-coating a Water-Based product with a solvent-Based product.
To me, the solvent will 'eat' the Water-Based product.

We painted steel for a carport with Water-Based Anti-Corrosive Primer.
Days later we painted it with a QD that (unbeknownst to me), had been thinned with Thinners.
The paint bubbled off.
I now only use Solvent-Based Primers.

However, in your defense - Duram make absolutely no mention of this on their spec sheets.

Read this, it is VERY interesting (& off a 4x4 related site)...
