Project coming along good
As Paul said we need to come inspect
You're more than welcome.

I can't wait for the project to be done and to get behind the wheel.

BTW, the gearbox drain plug - I see it takes a 17 allen key - is the thread reversed because I am turning the hell out of it but to no avail?

Oil filler and drain normal right hand thread

Use oxygen and accetaline torch to heat that plug up real good

While it is getting cold use a m10 bolt as a chisel by putting the head of the bolt in the Allen plug bolt and shock the drain plug by hitting it with a hammer on the bolt to shock the plug

This help loosening the ugly to be able to remove plugs

Net iets. Kry vir jou van daardie klein sterk magnete. Daardie drain plaatjie, sit hom in die middel van die olie se pad. Sodat hy al die vylsels kan optel. Jy sal skrik as jy sien hoeveel hy vang.

Took of the cylinder heads, cleaned the heads and valves, replaced the push rod tubes, adjusted the valve clearance.

Painted the shroud, lubed the fan bearings, replaced the belt, distributor and fitted the new carburetor.

New spark plugs, adjusted the timing.

Still not idling as it should, but I will tweak the carb to get it right.

A video of it running - and me revving the nuts of it (I could not help myself):

You can hear in the end the kids love it too :lol:

Nice shorts.... :lol:

BTW, rather than cover that Datsun's number plate - why not just move it out the pic - it spoilt the video...

After replacing the brake pads, wheel cylinders, springs, retaining pins and axle boot, I filled the gearbox with oil.

Came back to this:

The rear hub seals were fubar. Only found this out after I filled the gearbox and there was enough oil to reach the rear wheel bearings.

This project is getting expensive now...

2) Re-assembled the frame;

3) Fitted lights

4) Tank in and connected to pump;

5) Steering done;

Gents, I accidentally stripped the spark plug hole (no4) on the alu head. What do I do now?
