Maybe he got a job at Mercedes?

I wish you all the best with this project. NicoP & Jaco are certainly the right guys for the job.

I understand you want something fun & different, but I would just toss that Ssangyong & build an extreme XJ.

What other Diesel motors will fit if the old 2.5 XJ motor is not reliable or particularly powerful?

Xj is a Suv we do have a tuna

This bakkie is just standing nobody wants it so the we do something with it

And to have a double cab that cab flex like and XJ why not

Yes Jaco and Nico are the two best guys for this build and I trust them

The WL 2.5 ford/Mazda engine will work aswll

For starters, the XJ is a unibody with rear leafs. The Ssangyong is a ladder frame with multilink rear suspension. So the Ssangyong is closer to a TJ than a XJ in setup.

The big issue is cost. It won’t be a cheap build if done properly.

Xj junkie, my point of view. A std XJ is a capable vehicle, but buying a vehicle for 40k end spending 50k on accessories to make it work, not doing it for me. Haggy has the vehicle, i do have the time and parts, and have been building vehicles for 20 years. Why not. The tuna cost 400k second hand, the guys spend 80k on a suspension lift and tires. Where are we going. Be positive and check as we go thru this one.

Now this is innovation!

It would easily be the ugliest most capable vehicle ever in the history of the internal combustion process

Lets wait and see. Steel bumpers and rock slidders can change a picture.
