Ok Advantage of the V10 Touareg is that out of the Factory it is equipped with 2 batteries

One under Passanger seat and other in the Boot
With Spare wheel

I'm lucky my Treg has spare wheel carrier outside back with Sparewheel.

So this morning I installed silicon wire with nice lugs and shrink sleeve and grommets to protect the wire through the battery cover

Just outside the battery box installed a 30A inline fues holder as protection
And threaded the wire to the side of the boot and fitted a Brad Harris plug to power my Sno 65L fridge

I tell you what
These Germans don't play building a toiareg
To get to a panel whete you want to be take 10 other panel.to strip out to get access
And sponge with sound proofing Galore :shock:


In the comming week I'll fit a Brad Harris plug next to the tow hitch to power my victron DC to DC charger.

My Upholster addressed the issue on my Step ladder that when you climb up and down bare feet it will be a bit softer :D on your feet.
I bought super high dense sponge and covered the slats.


Also made me a custom Sparewheel cover with All my Braai equipment fitting inside and a clear piece that will house a emergency triangle at the back just for a bit of extra safety and visibility at night.

Received my Lifepo4 battery for Shadow

Had a laughter with some of my staff said the supplier sent me a defective battery with nothing inside as these batteries weight is a lot less than a normal battery

Now I can move battery to the nose cone

Ok so the First part of the new Power installation is done
220V plug was wrong (Female )Trailer side so the Cord side was Male and chances of a child getting shocked I removed that and fitted the Correct Male trailer side in the Nose cone.
With a Earth leakage switch and 1x15A trip switch for my Power outlets and Gas Geyser supply.

Inside Nose cone top rhs corner I fitted the MPPT solar controller and the 220v 15Amp victron Charger.
Lhs top corner The DC to DC charger is installed

Need to Route and Sleeve the wire to the Trailer plug and Fit the Brad Harris plug

The Lifepo4 Battery will Also be installed in the Nose cone and All supply wires will Route in to the inside of the Trailer and Instrumentation wiring 'box" will be fastened on the inner "FireWall"
And will house the Smart Shunt and Smart Battery protect and Buzz bars and 4x4 Direct 6Way iFuse box with indicator

Advantage of the Victron Smart equipment I will have all info.displayd on the Victron App on my Cell phone

Thanks to Woolf for info from his installation in his Jimny

I will fit a 800W Inverter to Power Cordles Battery charger or any small electrical device when fully off grid like my Electric blanket

One of the Problems of the larger in size than other Lifepo4 batteries is that I could not find a plastic battery box

So problem solved -

I got my Upholster to make me a Wooden box and cover it with Carpet.

Manny Wood not like it
:lol:

Will decide on a Battery hold down strap or bracket

Do you guys suggest some Ventilation holes for the box?

Can make a hole of 2 but still cover it with Carpet or Speaker cloth for Breathing .

Air vents sourced for battery box

Inverter with Change over switch installed from 220 ESKOM to 220v Solar inverter to charge Cordless power tools

Sorted the basic layout of my wiring box and Smart Shunt and Smart Battery protec with positive and Negative Buzz bar and 6 way fused out let unit


Front mounted MPPT and DC to DC charger with 220v to 12v chargers fitted

What is 220v Solar?

A change over switch have 2 supply inputs and 1 Load out

So if I plug 220v in to a camp site I leave the switch on main

But when I camp off grid and need 220V to charge my Cordless power tools battery
I switch change over switch to "Solar" and my inverter automatically supply 220v to my power sockets

Amazing the time it takes to do a simple wire connection but the Satisfaction when it is done right and so much more reliable and no bad connections when soldered

Inside TTT prepping underway

Everytime when I pitch the tent and go inside to loosen the side poles end fit them in the darkness I need to use a head torch to see

So I install some LED lights with a external switch to switch on when I start unpacking
And have lights for night time
