mahindra pikup plates

#1

Post by Jadranko »

good morning to all
those are 2 prototype plates that fit on mahindra pikup already equipped
with bundu gear bumper.
bottom plate (as on bottom on the photo) is straight bolt on (needs 6 off m8x25 or 30 bolts and nuts) and protects front diff,
sump,and part of gearbox.
extra welding is not necessary unless one wishes to cover front diff completely,as i did.
second(top plate on photo)bolts on to first one and covers rest of gearbox and all electrical connections
at gearbox and transfer case.some minor drilling needed.
this plate is still work in progress.
ugly cut out ,on the left, is made to accommodate transfer case which will be covered with separate plate by bolting it on this second plate.
in a pipe line are fuel tank plate and rear diff skid plate, hopefully by end of the year.
my time line is infinite as i can spare 15min every 2 months to work on it...
decision to do this was made when i was quoted few cents short of R10k for first one.
last photo shows bottom view and m14x120 cap screw for scale.

they are not for sale and i will not make them for purpose of sale.
i can publish drawings and files necessary for manufacturing *stp,*igs,*asm,*par.(this depends on moderators)
to make those 2 cost me R1600,including material, rolling and cutting(at general profiling)
plates can be made by any steel fabricator.

free to go:
first prototype of bottom plate,as one on photo, just without little wings and bit rougher but
it will cover front diff and sump.only bots are needed.

Thanks Joe. Fitting of plates is on my list for early 2023 - some other priorities this year. I have downloaded the manufacturing file and will certainly make use of it then. Many thanks.

Thanks Joe.

Sounds good. I will pop past. Unfortunately not available next weekend - so the weekend of the 2nd, if that's okay. Can you PM me your number please and I will give you a call a day or two before?

Thanks again. I am hoping it does fit - it would be so awesome.

Steve

Wambo Land isn't a trail. It's a sandy flat place.
