I don't know about the murder thing. The swahili, PPE and tyre tree thing are a long-standing joke our resident Namibian and myself have....

I think Henri is referring to the chap that was killed on the N4 this weekend when changing his tyre?HenriSteyn wrote: ↑Mon May 09, 2022 4:05 pmThis really is a sad state of affairs. Murdered for a cell phone and baby food. AI!
Sorry off topic but it really is bad out there.

Graham - presume so. Willem sent me the link a little earlier after my confusion...
I'm a callous person though. I was thinking that if it were Tony, the swahili-speaking, tyre tree dealers in East Africa would be very disappointed.

Some progress:
After welding and painting the frame, I noticed the nose cone's floor was also rotten through. I had to cut it out and weld a frame to which I can fasten a new aluminum floor. I then removed the paint from the a-frame, cut out the panels and started painting. When I painted the galvanized panels, I scuffed it up with 12grit sandpaper and then (being Scotty the Scotsman) etched it with vinegar. After painting it with primer, it started peeling so I had to first remove all the primer again and then properly etch it with the correct chemical - I lost two days of progress that way.

Shane - that "man-purse" description thing is probably accurate. Willem does drive a Ford Ranger...

I feel it prudent to requote a sentence or two from my first post. Seems it was quite accurate :
"In 2014 I bought a Jurgens luggage trailer - the infamous BT547. For those with Agnosia (like most Toyota drivers), the 547 represents the dimensions of the cargo bin of the trailer."

Nose cone and mud guards done and fitted.
Now I need to sand down the main lid, paint it, fit it, do the wiring and seal the joints of the under-carriage. Oh and replace the bearings while I have the time.
Then it is done.
