Wheel Arch Flares

My truck is pretty old, and one of the things which has been bothering me for quite a bit are the wheel arch flares / trim. For such an over-engineered vehicle, I find the very crappy manner in which the trim fastens to be a little annoying. So much so that after the Patrol Forum River Trip last year, I didn't even bother putting the door trim pieces back on again. In short: the truck has been looking a little scruff for a couple of months.
However, I managed to arrange a set of Kut Snake flares for my vehicle from Oz. I say a set of flares. I actually had to order two sets. The reason being that, many years ago when I acquired the Patrol, my father fell in love with the vehicle and shortly thereafter I had to organise another Patrol for him. As such, whenever I make any modifications to my truck, he normally also decides to make similar modifications. So I had to install a set on both trucks.
They make a hell of a difference. The truck actually looks good again.
Installation is easy. One needs a 4mm drill, a 5mm allen wrench and a bit of super glue to keep the trim beading in place. You do need a second set of hands to hold the pieces in place when you drill the holes. A more detailed write up for installation is available here: https://patrol4x4.co.za/viewtopic.php?f ... 88#p118388
I'm happy with the outcome.
