So I got hold of this Sj back in 2016 it had by then already been fitted with the hilux axles and the trusty old 4y lump from back in 1753...

I drove it around a bit and even went down to do the same North coast trip you guys ended up doing.

2017 Was a busy year and i didn't really get a chance to break away at all so i started development on a coil spring conversion kit for all sj's, this went quite well and late 2017 i was about to respray it.. then the secret was revealed it was a rusty wreck. and 2 beers later the body was cut in half.
Looking at what i have done the proportions wasnt quite right. i mean a 750mm load bed . I mean it looked like one of those funky UK based 4x4 vehicles....

So the grinder came out again and it was lengthened another 320mm if i remember correctly. this put it in that sweetspot of 108in wheelbase.
After a few busy months it was finaly done patching the masive hole in the back of the now cab as well as "most"of the cancer was gone.
With this it has had a 2.0 turbo diesel lump fitted from the 1800's. Its a slow donkey but a strong one.

I recently made a FJ70 cruiser radiator fit into it as i have had issues with it running hot. All seems sorted for now.

MOD List:
*Hilux 4.88 ratio axles
*Rear d4d E locker
*31/10.5r15 MAxxis bighorn muds
*Jimny 2" HD+ Lift coils
*Full custom coil suspension setup
*Warn 8274 Winch
*2.0 Turbo diesel lump
*Top mount intercooler
*Hybrid d4d fortuner turbo
*Flatback tray or Overland canopy
*Supports duel battery and solar in the canopy
*Solid 4&6mm front bar
*Some accessory lights

Next steps

285/75R17 or 35s to come before Carnage
Rock sliders
Roll bar
Front locker
Some sort of aircon 8-)

From the side it looks like a mini cruiser.

With all those Toyota spares it'll probably last another 30 years

Nicely done!

There is not much Suzuki left now - basically the bonnet and some of the cab.

Sometimes change is a good thing, the members who know me will understand how hard i drive that poor Sj and having less panels and more steel is being kind to it Image
