Calling on Bugger

Hi Pierre,

I need some expert advice on my volla (relax Manny, its for the off-road thing I built in 2019).

1) I noticed on one of the rocker arms two cracks on the mounting brackets (see pics). Is this something I can repair or should I look for another rocker arm assembly?

2) This is probably a kak question, but here goes: Before I pulled the engine, the gearbox wouldn't go into gear. You have to rev the nuts off it to get a gear change. Anyway, when I pulled the engine, I tried to get the gearbox to select a gear but it still would not. So this cannot be the clutch, but rather a gearbox issue?

Unfortunately some people just can't seem to look after my stuff as I would. Both the above issues arose from neglect (1) the tolerances on the tappets were probably set incorrectly and (2) the guy that does the most driving on the farm has only one leg - I suspect he didn't use the clutch to change gears and rather revved the engine moertoe to change gears.

Appreciate any advice you can give me.

Cheers

I would fire the one legged driver & the guy who saw fit to let a guy with one leg drive.

Poephol.

I hope your clutch goes exactly at 17:30 at the Rivonia road intersection.

Edit: With Chas as a passenger.

Hi
Apologies for late reply
I had absolutely no signal last few days
And non at Moegatla

The rocker shaft was probably not fastened properly to the head
That is not to difficult to change
You can just get a second hand Rocker shaft and replace

The gearbox issue

Some transmissions need slight movement to select

With engine out and you remove the Coupler between gear shaft and gearbox nose cone
Use a visegrip and gently see if you can select gears

Quite strange you mention.that you have to rev the engine high to change gears

Check is there is gear oil in the transmission
As axle boots tear and leak oil out and People think it is engine oil check dip stick and engine oil level is ok
But gearbox is loosing oil
