So today the Jimny got coms up and running .
Had hours of debating where i wanted it all fitted. In the end this is what i went for , its out the way a bit and made sense of the place i found to bolt my home made bracket.
Made from a old Stanley set square ( decent steel i thought ) . Now i need to see if it works 😂

Copy cat. That is the perfect spot for the radio. How did you route the aerial wire? Where did you source power for the radio?

Ahh OK.
I wondered why you weren't on the 4x4AG Radio Group.
I've now added you...

ok so used split cable truncking for all wiring , Arial i ran behind the headlight up past the window washer water bottle then behind the abs system and into the firewall through the rubber seal along with the other electrics behind the aircon unit to the radio.

the radio power i ran in trunking under the dash up behind the clutch/brake pedals and out the rubber firewall grommet that comes out at the battery .

will take some more pics

Wow, how did you get the pics so small. I can't see what's happening in them.

How did you go through the grommet? I was very reluctant to make holes in it.

Shouldn't the antenna be mounted on a ground plate to work most efficiently?

I mailed the pic from my cell to my email add , gives you the option on size of mail . sorry any bigger and i cant upload.

most cars on the firewall rubber/grommet have a blank hole that is not open , you can see it from the inside, i made a hole in that with a small spike , then put sunlight soap on the cable and pushed it through . its a nice tight fit and wont leak .
then pushed the split sleeve over the cable on each side .
