What would be ideal wheelbase? I thought 100” was the golden in between figure...
Safari is 115”, and that is long wheel base.
Would 110-115” be ok on pipecar?

It really depends on what you can get out of it in terms of the motor length . Did you decide on steering yet? Steering box with drag link plus pan hard rod or full hydraulic with 4 link ?

Measure up and make a sketch. thats what will determine the wheel base.
If you are going full hydraulic I'm thinking you should go with an A arm (well a U-arm) to get around the length of the motor with a single top joint at the front - which means you'll need the same at the rear to keep the roll centres happy.

Quick hand drawn sketch of top ‘U’ frames - if it makes sense .

Thanks for that.
What does the landrover use on the diff un U arm? Big Balljoint?
Will soon be able to compare, busy buying disco2 Roling chassis to put underneath my merc

big ball joint is fine, but not great.
I'd prefer a big spherical joint pressed into a housing on the diff side myself.
but it will work!
