Manny, are you one of those guys that frequently use phrases such as "saute" or "caramelize" when in the bush?

If you do, I can spare a few pounds of testicles...
Willem, if I recall, you & your wife wouldn't let Rainier & I even eat the Spar meat we had brought at that braai in Naukluft & insisted we share the top class meat you had brought.

you guys are onto recipes?

Jolly good!

Nothing worse than getting to a beautiful destination only to find that the evening meal is Spar Wors and a dry old roll.

the day should start with a decent eggs benedict and cappuccino, and get better!

If it wasn't for the wife and kids I would live happily and healthy with droe wors, biltong and beer.
And a big T-bone every second day.

We normally make this after a late breakfast/brunch of bacon and eggs.

In your non stick breakfast pan.
Slice 2-3 peeled apples into thin slices after removing the pits.
Add two big table spoons of caramel sugar or brown sugar to the pan (you can add a teaspoon of butter if you wish )
Heat on medium heat until the sugar is melted.
Add the sliced apples and fry in the sugar until golden brown and soft.
Serve warm with or without cream.

Well, at last year's Carnage Canyon I did make a charming little Wild Mushroom Risotto :-)
I believe Manny even tasted some.
Not sure most 4x4ers would consider the 45mins spent preparing that a fun activity, but the other 4x4ers around the fire sure had fun watching.

For those of you that have been watching the 4WD Action YouTube videos, that Shaun Whale is quite entertaining when he cooks.

The last video that they posted had him making a fish curry and instead of rationing the red curry paste, the whole lot fell into the pot. He just shrugs it off and says it will be a hot curry. Then he added all sorts of left over fruits and stuff.

Clearly he’s not a trained chef
