So I am about braais like a women is over shoes.
I have a whole collection of home built braais, smokers etc.
But I'm getting lazy...
So I quickly put together a braai slab - that way I don't need to sweat over hot coals the whole time.

Ok so the weather didn't exactly play along.... Some light intermittant rain and then a deluge just before I finished.
Managed to get everything done despite it all.
Unfortunately I couldn't take many pics - but I'm more than satisfied with the results!

Not quite...
I understand that you stadsjapies have small gardens and might need to do that...
But here on the farm we have plenty of space.
It's the laziest form of braaing as you put everything in a stand-up grid and it goes low & slow.
I only got up to turn every 30 min. Rest of the time I could focus on my beverage

This has been lying in my garage for years. Used it this weekend for the first time to make a potjie. Works very well. About 1.5kgs charcoal kept the potjie going for close to 3 hours.

That looks nice Erin. I think I'm going to have to come visit with a tapemeasure and notepad to get some dimensions and see how it's put together.

Die konsep werk lekker, maar dit work ook 'n miernes na die tyd, veral as mens staanrib soos jy braai. Die miere kom agter daai vet aan.

So here in the Platstaat the wind has been a little bit of a hassle of late....
Added to my blok and quickly put together a wind shield.
Now I can do 3 standing grills with even less effort!
Currently trying out a pork belly. Tomorrow 2 x lamb ribs, smoked pork belly rib and same game wors. BIL is coming tp visit.
