Steel brush the grid and then rub 1/2 onion over it , I've heard ...
I only use a small braai grid now and don't really wash it at all but fire clean it red-hot when there's a lot of flame on the fire ...
For larger braai units a geyser tray is a good top to stop water wetting/collecting in a braai...
I think it's time you left for Mud Island and join the other confused people living there.
