HCDP and WRND arnt really ‘ smart ‘ chargers
as such they just facilitate suitable onward charging of aux batteries downstream from your cars main charging battery and alternator ... they also have built in controllers to enable solar charging as an alternative.
Smart chargers assess a battery then apply a charging program or routine then ‘re-test’ and if necessary go into a re-charging routine.
I think ... high-end C-Teks are meant to do all this in an integrated ‘charger ‘ ?

Point being ... when you camping its gen not imperative to get your battery absolutely 100% charged, just to get by the next day and have cold beers again off your aux battery ...
but at home or or off a 220v source ... you do.

There's a saying...

"He is the type of person who, if you ask for the time, tells you how to make a watch".

Thanks for your input Chas... :D  :)

Have a look at the range of chargers available from Adendorff. I'm sure there is something there that will suite your requirements and pocket.
