Index of where to find well priced camping equipment.

I am always on the look out for a good deal on what I buy. As our dear Kurt and Manny like to say, I'm supposedly "cheap". I like to see it as getting as much for my buck as possible. The idea with this thread is a place where we can post good deals we find for the benefit of everyone.
Today at TentCo I found a good bargain on a storm net. I've wanted one for the caravan tent after our trip to the coast last year where the wind was very strong and caused damage to other guys camping gear. The prices that I have seen to date are over R1000.00 for even the smaller storm nets. TentCo has the normal sizes with the biggest the 6m x 6m going for R550.00 which is a great price.
As I find camping gear and accessories at good prices I'll add them to the thread.

1) 6m x 6m storm net from TentCo @ R550.00.

2) 140w solar panel from AC-DC Express @ R1185.00

Yes, you are cheap. But this is a great thread, thanks.

I found a 140W solar panel at AC/DC Express in Fourways for R1185 which is cheaper than 4x4 Direct which charge R10 per Watt (so it’s R1400 for the 140W)

Problem with this idea is that is very 'Here & Now'.
In 6 months time AC/DC Express may be the worst for 140W Solar panels & Bushpower may be the cheapest.

Might be a better idea to list suppliers who are generally good rather than places who are currently selling a specific item cheap...

Like Tauro for recovery & hoisting stuff
4x4 Direct for general stuff.
Bush Power for electrics
John Ratcliff for service parts (oil filters, air filters etc by Donaldson)

Just my view...

AC/DC Express were not running a special, just saying. That price is out of their standard catalogue which indicates that on a per Watt basis they are pretty reasonable for solar panels.

Like with Kurt's post with the standard price from AC-DC the price I gave from TentCo is the normal shelf price. It might not apply in 6 or 12 months but it will be a good starting point for someone looking for a camping related product.

Looking around 4*4 Direct Boksburg ,
I found the pricing very reasonable, they're based in outer Joburg area(s) and so I guess their property rental costs etc are lower.
Though courier costs may make ‘drive & collect’ more worth it .
