Replacing the wheel bearings on my Conqueror

#1

Post by Wave »

With Andreas starting a thread on how often to service your trailer (including bearings) I have decided that because my Conqueror Comfort is nearing 10 years old and Alko use some dodgy Czech (IIRC) bearings I want to service and replace the bearings with decent ones. Now I'm clueless when it comes to brands, but which are best?

Timken
NSK
SKF

Appreciate the feedback.

About 18 months ago I serviced the hubs and regreased the bearings, but for peace of mind I'd prefer a top quality part.

Go to Bearing Man with one of your existing bearings and ask them
Flex is overrated

BMG wanted R340 for a 32008 Timken.
Bearing & belt here in the Vale wanted R180 for the same bearing.

I ordered SKF 32008's for R190ea, arrived the next day, so in the near future its going to be service trailer day, along with fitting new bearings i will adjust the brakes, change the coupler boot and regrease that too.
