I think chef s and real cooks
call this flexi stainless steel thing a spatula.
I bought it in GAME ...

Much better than an egg-flip
for getting under a fried/poached egg
and getting it out unbroken ...
(unless you broke the egg before frying...)

... also good for cracking the shell ...

My all time favorite. Can bake bread, muffins. Can do things like malva pudding, chocolate brownies. Can roast veggies. Can roast chicken or meat. All with very little fuss. A few coals in the tray at the bottom and a few on the lid, sit back and wait.

Thought I would show my Ghillie
and show how it will (hopefully)
be used on a Cobb in addition to independently.

https://ibb.co/jME20L cobb, ghillie base & kettle

https://ibb.co/mHuruf ghillie w base-hearth

https://ibb.co/d3J6S0 ghillie without base

The Ghillie is essentially a metallic jug
with a chimny up through the middle ...
Mine boils about 4 to 5 mugs of water ...
a small fire or flame underneath provides
heat up the centre/ length of the jug heating the
water in the outer surrounding jacket.
Detacheable section at the bottom provides
a fire cradle or hearth ... litten by fire lighter
(eg parafine soaked Tea-bag)
and fed with kindling etc through the
port-hole.

If that detacheable section is taken off Im sure
the water could be boiled using
a cobbs hearth of coals or a gas burner
as a heat source

It should work!
Try it and post the results.

That Cobb of yours has definite character ;)

Not allowed to leave home without it.

A chafing dish/baine marie to keep food warm without cooking it as I personally hate having to eat immediately when I've finished cooking.

And a simple tinfoil dish if you need to separate food.

Then the added advantage of having hot water to wash dishes afterwards.

Love to know how you keep food warm when camping?

I use ‘hay-box’ idea to keep food warm ...or even cook it ... just basically two big cushions of polystyrene balls ... put pot of food w lid onto one cushion and put other cushion over it ... simple as that ! Can heat up a brick or pebble wrap it in Al foil and put that underneath the pot to increase ‘heat content’, cook etc.

... as it happens we have soup in
ours at the moment tonight ...
